Following the success of last season's inaugural Concert pour les étudiants, the Orchestre national de Metz Grand Est is back with one of the finest symphonies in the repertoire. Tchaikovsky's Fourth Symphony is part of a trilogy in which the Russian composer is haunted by fatum, "that fatal force which prevents the achievement of happiness, [...] which hangs over our heads like a sword of Damocles and constantly poisons our soul". Its theme regularly shakes the generous lyricism and dance movements that irrigate the score, but life triumphs in the spectacular finale, chanted by the cymbals. After the concert, extend the evening over a drink at the Arsenal bar and with Herr 2003's DJ set!
