The charms of Sarreguemines and Bitche
The couple begin their getaway by heading to eastern Moselle. They were excited to spend two nights at a real institution, the jewel in the crown of Moselle’s dining and hotel world: L’Arnsbourg in Baerenthal.
David can’t wait: “It’s got a Michelin Star. Sometimes you have to treat yourself!” From their new base, David and Lisa plan to visit the Sarreguemines, the city of ceramics, eat lunch nearby at l’Auberge Saint-Walfrid, then explore the exhibitions at the famous ceramic museum.

A tasty interlude...
Continuing their trip, David and Lisa decide to stop a few kilometres outside Metz. “David is a real wine lover, so when we discovered the Moselle Wine Trail, it was a must (laughs).”
And why not? You wouldn’t want to miss out on sampling the finest Moselle AOC wines. “Excellent vintages”, confirms David. The cherry (or grape) on top: the chance to spend an unforgettable night among the vines at Domaine des Béliers in Ancy-sur-Moselle, “a timeless place”, in Lisa’s words.
…before the horror
But what David does not yet realise is that his partner has a little surprise in store, just a few minutes away. “I love horror themed Escape Games, So I’ve booked us onto a special event at the Paddock Horreur Showx.”
This extraordinary and terrifying experience at Amnéville ! The programme includes DJs and bands to keep the party going, as well as plenty of entertainment to scare the bravest of you.
Relaxation at the heart of Moselle
After this afternoon, which “David ended up loving despite his initial apprehension”, the couple decided to relax and unwind. “The journey was quite long and spending a few hours in the thermal baths at Villa Pompéi did us the world of good.”
Lisa tested the massage jets, sprays and pools of this renowned facility - guaranteed zen.
They continue their stay at Amnéville Leisure City, nestled in the middle of the forest, in the relaxing surroundings of Logis Hôtel Diane. Lisa clearly enjoyed the experience: “You can truly unwind just a few kilometres from Metz. There’s everything you need for some quality time together. Leave the car in the carpark and make the most of it!”
