UKIYOTO [Japan/France]
Ukiyo (floating world), Oto (sound), percussionist Yuko Oshima draws on traditional Japanese music, invoking the rich writing and sober phrasing of Nagauta.
Her trio will be in search of this unique Japanese groove.
With The Handover, another journey and another groove; this trio explores the common and unusual meanings of Egyptian ritual music, elegantly combining the delicacy of classical Arabic music with the spontaneity of free improvisation.
