Unmissable sights in Moselle
Moselle is home to many legendary castles. Strategically located in the East of France, it has been the backdrop to several conflicts, leaving behind an abundance of castles and forts.
The Maginot Line is also a strong presence in Moselle. Covering over 1500 km, the region is packed with fascinating remnants of its turbulent history.
Salt, iron, coal... The underground riches of Lorrain gave rise to industries that prospered until the 1970s. This past is recreated for visitors at sites such as Explor Wendel Park coal mining museum and U4, the last reminding blast furnace in Uckange, or the Iron Mining Museums of Aumetz and Neufchef.
There are also masterpieces of religious art and medieval citadels to explore.
