Merwane presents his show, modestly entitled "Le Formidable Merwane Benlazar" by himself. Incisive and over-the-top, he shares his societal reflections and personal anecdotes on subjects as diverse as genealogy, appearance and his record for the world's fastest (and legal) marriage. Self-deprecating, with a sunny personality, Merwane has a universal laugh. After this hour spent together, you'll want to join him on tour, be part of his family, take the bus lanes in his car (totally illegally, this time!).
And above all, you'll understand why everyone's talking about him right now! "Formidable", in common parlance, is something great, but the Latin root of the word means "that which frightens". Merwane, with his finely tuned punchlines and unfailing freshness, questions the image we might have of him, and proves that he's definitely formidable.
