Practical information
Fitness / outdoor trails from ARRY, mode of transport / activity : Walking-related, on the theme(s) : Historic, Natural.
Along the hiking trail, you can discover former German blockhouses from the First World War, as well as traces of a funicular railway. A discovery trail called "Du béton et des hommes" (Concrete and Men) explains the German construction work carried out in this forest as part of the 2nd line of fortifications for Metz during the First World War. Fruit trees and vines colonize the well-exposed slopes of Lorry-Mardigny, a commune that boasts two 12th-century churches and castles now privately owned.
The paths are marked out in a network, so you can put together a walk to suit you.
Markings: yellow rectangle.
