Guillaume Robert-Famy Thionville, Pont-écluse
The first stage of your cycling trip on the Voie Bleue in France, you leave Sierck-les-Bains and its castle of the Dukes of Lorraine by the winding course of the Moselle. Towards Contz-les-Bains, at the bend in the river, the vineyards appear. This cycle route follows the waterway and passes through typical Lorraine villages. Since 1956, the large-gauge lock at Kœnigsmacker has opened up the Moselle to Rhine traffic. On arriving in Thionville, bathed in greenery, the Basse-Ham water sports centre offers all the comfort to boaters, campers and cyclists.
