In 1974, development resulting from the construction of the Metz-Thionville motorway helped to create an area of 7,2 hectares which has become the lake of the Ile Saint Symphorien. Since then, the public has enjoyed its many walks with magnificent views of the city and its sports and leisure facilities, popular with tourists and residents alike.
