A sister institution to the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Centre Pompidou-Metz is a masterpiece of contemporary architecture. It is an art centre dedicated to modern and contemporary art, a unique global signature.

Designed by Shigeru Ban and Jean de Gastines, with Philip Gumuchdjian for the competition-winning project, it features four exhibition galleries covered by an audacious roof reminiscent of a Chinese hat. Its 77-metre spire is a nod to 1977, the opening date of the Centre Pompidou-Paris. This driving force of international culture hosts temporary exhibitions, live performances, lectures and films, to showcase all forms of artistic expression.
