Morlange is part of the commune of Fameck, some ten kilometers west of Thionville. The chapel dominates the village from its bell tower, and is dedicated to Saint-Nicolas and Saint-Roch. Listed as a historic monument on January 31, 1845, it is one of the finest and best-preserved examples of Romanesque art in the region. A haven of peace at the foot of the Justemont hills, the chapel stands discreetly out of sight, in the middle of a grassy enclosure, whose entrance is dominated by a magnificent Renaissance portal, strangely sculpted and surmounted by a variegated coat of arms.
