Lorry-les-Metz Church

LORRY LES METZ

15th-century Gothic church of Saint Clément. Its beauty lies in its lack of symmetry, parallelism and levels, combined with its strength and solidity. Its slender tower and spire lift its squat facade skywards. It retains some elements of its defensive layout. Worth seeing: the 15th-century baptismal font, the Schwilgué clock from 1847 in perfect working order, the Dalstein organ, restored to its original form, and the stained glass windows by Naborian artist Arthur Schouler. Open by appointment only at the town hall or M. Courtade 03 87 31 13 12.
