Léa Munsch explores an ancient, instinctive bond with materials from the earth. She draws on nature to give shape to an abstract, architectural, raw and natural world. In her studio, a set of timeless forms emerges, sculptures born at the crossroads of art and architecture. Like an archaeological process that blurs the lines of time, his sculptures seem to come from an ancient future. Her practice evolves freely and expands to encompass the primordial triad of materials: earth, wood and stone. She is drawn to the cultures imagined by ancient civilizations long before the beginning of our era, as well as to prehistoric art, for the profound connection between art, life and nature. Léa Munsch lives and works in Lorraine, in eastern France, where she has taken over a space in an old factory perched on a river surrounded by forest.
