OSMOBIOSE EN CONCERT

OSMOBIOSE is the fruit of meetings between long-time musicians from very different musical backgrounds and cultures, and jam sessions organized for the pleasure of making music together without necessarily taking too much on. Over the course of these sessions, the five fellows hit it off, decided it would be nice to get together more than once every three months and started rehearsing covers of French songs mixed with old compositions sung by Christian and re-orchestrated by the group, and finally started creating new songs. Their tour de chant is thus made up of covers and original songs arranged by the group.

The group is now made up of 6 musicians:

Guy Chatelain on drums:

He's the youngest member of the group...barely fifty years old. It was at a cousin's house that he discovered the drums, while he was still wearing out his trousers on the benches of an elementary school in the Fensch valley. Unfortunately, he lived in an apartment... too noisy an instrument! At the age of forty, a mid-life crisis forced him to take up the drums, and one thing leading to another, he took part in jam sessions where he met his acolytes, whom he joined in the

"Osmobiose" project.

On vocals and guitar, Christian Gaudioso :

The 1st Christian in the group. His mother says he was already singing before he could speak! So it was to be able to sing that he learned to play the guitar a little. And he's been doing it for over 69 years. He has been composing to texts written by various friends, and playing since secondary school, first on his own, then with his brother Michel on guitar, then with a number of rock and jazz groups... as life goes by...

On keyboards, Alain Hurard :

He's the old-timer in the band...but not yet old enough to be vaccinated against the music virus, contracted in his hometown of Orange, home of the Chorégies. A pianist grandmother and many musician friends contaminated him, over time, to all varieties of music... and even to variety music.

On bass, Christian Louppe dit Cri Cri

The other Christian in the group. He caught the bug while strumming his mother's mandolin. Soon bored, he switched to guitar. Unconvinced, it was by listening to David Brown (Santana), Paul Jackson (Herbie Hancock) and Jannik Top (Magma) that he found his calling. At the age of 16, he took up the bass: he was nicknamed "the great jazz-rock player" (tall in stature!). Self-taught, he'll do what he can if you ask him to play rock, jazz and even, with his Osmobiose pals, French chanson, as long as it grooves!

On electric guitar, Pierre Veynand aka "Pit":

Pit is the left-handed member of the band. A member of the rock band Kapra for ages, it's his greatest musical experience. While jamming with his friends, he realized that playing other people's songs was good too! So it was only natural for him to join the original trio. His dream: to play bass like Cricri!

Carole, the youngest member of the group, on flute and 2nd voice, adds a touch of lightness and sweetness to the ensemble.
