COSÌ FAN TUTTE or The School for Lovers... Commissioned from Mozart by Emperor Joseph II, the opera is said to have been inspired by a true story that was much talked about in Viennese salons at the time: two brothers, sure of their fiancées' attachment, make a bet with an old bachelor friend who doubts a woman's fidelity. In disguise, each courts the other's girlfriend. The two young women don't resist for long... Reflecting the instability and fragility of human nature, COSÌ FAN TUTTE is a brilliant comedy, served by the incomparable music of Mozart, then at the height of his art.

New production by Opéra-Théâtre de l'Eurométropole de Metz - In coproduction with Fondazione Teatro di Pisa, Fondazione Pergolesi Spontini di Jesi, Fondazione Teatro Comunale L. Pavarotti di Modena and Teatro Sociale di Rovigo.
