* Rando Blies Wanderweg
The Blies, a well-known Saarland river, has its source not far from the Bostalsee, where it begins its 120 km journey. During your daily stages, you will discover a variety of landscapes: hilly country around Sankt Wendel, limestone territory shaped by rural life, sandstone region covered by forests. The Bostalsee, the largest recreational lake in the southwest of Germany (120 hectares), the sculpture route, the Basilica of Sankt Wendel, the attractive medieval town of Ottweiler, the Saarland Mining Museum in Bexbach, the Roman Museum in Schwarzenecker, the 7-metre-high Gollenstein, Germany's largest menhir, and the baroque town of Blieskastel are just some of the places of interest. The European Archaeological Park of Bliesbrück-Reinheim and the Museum of Ceramic Technology are further highlights on the way to the confluence of the Blies and Saar rivers.
