Fort de Queuleu is one of the few remaining examples of the fortifications built between 1868 and 1872 to defend Metz.

Historic monument or place to visit in METZ, on the theme(s) Military interest, awarded with the Label Listed historic monument (MH).
During the last annexation, 2,563 Mosellans were arrested by the Gestapo and deported to Germany. 1,500 of these patriots were interned in casemate A of Fort Queuleu. For former deportees, this structure has become a mecca of suffering and death. The Nazis called it SS Sonderlager.
