A ruined heiress, Blanche moves in with her sister Stella in a poor neighborhood of New Orleans. Delicate, scornful, a mythomaniac, Blanche seems to be inhabited by strange dreams. Stella is married to Stanley Kowalski, a virile, brutal laborer who resents the arrival of this stranger in his life. Part psychological thriller, part dramatic comedy, this inward-looking play draws us into the dizzying madness of Blanche, pursued by her demons and unable to respond to the violence of the society around her.
