The motorways

Metz is situated at the intersection of two major motorways: the A4 from Paris-Frankfurt and the A31, which connects the North Sea to the Mediterranean, via Luxembourg, Dijon and Lyon.

As such Paris is 320 km (around 3hrs) by road, Lyon 450 km, Lille 370 km, Strasbourg 160 km (1hr 30mins), Saarbrücken in Germany 68 km, Trier 110 km and Brussels in Belgium just 270 km.
Meanwhile, the A31 motorway, from Lorraine-Bourgogne, runs from Dijon to the Luxembourg border. After Dijon, it joints the A6 motorway, heading towards Lyon, allowing you to reach Moselle from the South of France! What’s more, there are no tolls on the A31 in Moselle.

Our road network also presents the opportunity to visit our neighbours in Luxembourg, Germany and even Belgium, in no time at all.

Consider carpooling!

Carpooling is a great way of getting to Moselle, wherever you are travelling from. The trips listed on apps such as BlaBlaCar are often recurring: Metz and Thionville are the most regular destinations.
